In 2021 we're baking ourselves better by making mindful choices, but that doesn't mean we have to give up our favorite recipes! Luckily, we have some amazing organic and natural sweeteners that will make your baked goods delicious. We're breaking down three of our favorites- honey, agave, and allulose - so you can figure out which one is best for you!

Honey

Honey is a popular sugar alternative because it adds both flavor and sweetness to a dish. We offer three types of honey, our best-selling Organic Honey, our Organic Raw Unfiltered Honey, and our Organic Raw Unfiltered White Honey. No matter which one you choose, they're all great options for substituting for sugar. Honey is naturally sweeter than sugar, so you only need ¾ cup honey for every 1 cup of sugar when substituting.

How to use it: We love adding honey to our drinks whether it be tea, coffee, or smoothies! If you want a honey-filled snack with your morning drink, try making these Salted Honey, Dark Chocolate, Coconut, and Quinoa No-Bake Granola Bars.

Agave

Blue Agave is a natural sweetener that is harvested from the Weber Azul plants in Jalisco, Mexico. It has a low glycemic index, which means it won't cause any spikes to your blood sugar. Like honey, agave is 25% sweeter than sugar, so when using it as a substitute you only need ¾ cup agave for every 1 cup of sugar.

How to use it: Agave is perfect for breakfasts, especially when there is fruit involved! Try drizzling it on a bowl of fruit and yogurt to enhance the natural sweetness, or use it to make your breakfast the night before with this Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats recipe.

Allulose

Allulose is a zero-calorie sweetener that is found naturally in figs, raisins, and kiwi. Our liquid and granulated allulose are made from Non-GMO corn, making them a great Non-GMO alternative to artificial sweeteners. Allulose tastes just like sugar and doesn't have any of the bitterness or cooling effects that can be present in other zero-calorie sweeteners. Allulose isn't as sweet as sugar, so you will need 1 and ⅓ cups of allulose for every cup of sugar when using as a substitute.

How to use: Our Granulated Allulose acts the same as regular sugar, so it's perfect for creating nice, fluffy baked goods. Our Liquid Allulose dissolves quickly, so it is great for adding to drinks like this Low Carb Strawberry Daiquiri Protein Shake.
