Bethlehem Steel FC Acquires Forward Yomi Samuele Scintu
Steel FC acquires 21-year-old Yomi Scintu from VfB Eichstatt

CHESTER, Pa. (March 7, 2019) - Bethlehem Steel FC announced today that the club has acquired forward Yomi Samuele Scintu (pronunciation: YOH-mee sah-moo-EH-leh SHIN-too). A 21-year-old forward from Ingolstadt, Germany, Scintu becomes Steel FC's 13th player on the club's roster. The deal is pending league and federation approval. Scintu will be added to the Steel's active roster following receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P1 Visa.

'We are very happy about signing Yomi to the Steel this season,' said Union Sporting Director Ernst Tanner. 'Yomi will provide speed and danger to the Steel attack this season, forcing opposing defenses to be aware of his positioning at all times. We look forward to this partnership and furthering his professional development.'

Scintu joins Steel FC from German side VfB Eichstatt, where he played two seasons for Eichstatt's first team. He made 12 appearances (seven starts), scored five goals and supplied one assist for the club in the 2018/2019 season. Previously, in the 2017/2018 season, Scintu made 23 appearances (22 starts), notched seven goals and provided two assists for the German side.

Scintu has both Italian and Nigerian citizenship.
