The meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping is very much awaited. In this context of trade conflict between Washington and Beijing, the tension is at its height as the meeting between the two presidents looms. The China Daily revealed that China was willing to cooperate: "Beijing wants a deal, just as Washington does. And it is willing to cooperate with Washington in dealing with concerns about trade if they are fair-minded," the paper said. "Should there be any other aspirations, such as taking advantage of the trade spat to throttle Chinese growth, then an agreement is unlikely to be reached." For his part, White House Economic Advisor Larry Kudlow said the United States could suspend the entry into force of new tariffs until spring in return for further discussions, while Trump welcomed the positive results of the tariffs imposed on China's economy. The talks will probably not be easy...
