Canadian stocks were marginally lower Thursday mid-trading. In the session, the main sectors to decline were energy and process industries, which outweighed primary gains in the consumer services and health tech sectors.

Canada's S&P/TSX Composite Index was 0.17% lower at 20644.70 and the blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 fell by 0.12% to 1245.25.

Shares in MCI Onehealth Technologies Inc. were 4.8% lower at C$0.20 after it said it plans to sell certain non-core assets. The healthcare-technology company said it also is working to cut costs, and has entered an exclusive arrangement with a strategic investor about a possible deal in an effort to shore up its balance sheet.


Other market movers:

X-Terra Resources Inc. will propose to its shareholders changing the company's name to Comet Lithium Corp. to better reflect its new focus on lithium. Shares were up 4.5% at C$0.70.
