ABN AMRO BANK N.V. On 14 November 2022, ABN AMRO entered into a sales agreement with AXA IM Alts, on behalf of its clients, on the sale and partial lease of the bank's iconic premises at Coolsingel 93 in Rotterdam. In collaboration with ABN AMRO, AXA IM and developer Provast will redevelop the building.
The building on the Coolsingel will be a modern, smart and sustainable office building of approximately 30,000 m2 for several tenants. ABN AMRO has signed a lease agreement for a new bank office on the ground floor and part of the office building.
Most sustainable building in Rotterdam
The redevelopment is in line with the increasing demand for high-quality and sustainable office space in Rotterdam and is in line with the bank's objective to make all its own branches fully Paris-proof by 2030 at the latest.
With high ESG ratings, circular construction techniques and innovative energy systems, the completely redeveloped building will become the most sustainable building on the Rotterdam market with a BREEAM 'Excellent' and WELL Platinum certificate and an A++++ energy label.
The new design by Paul de Ruiter Architects will be used to reconnect the building with the buildings on the Coolsingel. For example, the current closed façade on the renewed Coolsingel will become accessible and transparent again.
The redevelopment will start in the autumn of 2023. The expected completion is early 2025.
