General Exploration Partners, Inc. entered into an agreement to acquire TAQA Atrush B.V from Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (ADX:TAQA) on January 21, 2024. The acquisition is part of ShaMaran's consolidation strategy in Kurdistan. In addition, HKN Energy IV, Ltd. entered into an agreement to acquire GEP2, Ltd from General Exploration Partners.

General Exploration Partners aims to increase its indirect working interest in the Atrush Block from 27.6% to 50%. Step 1 is subject to customary closing conditions for a share sale and purchase agreement in the Netherlands and customary stock exchange approvals in Canada.
