More than 1.2 million job seekers helped on Adecco's third global 'Street Day'

Over 7,300 Adecco people offered 1,000 free training and coaching sessions in 54 countries on six continents

Zurich, March 27, 2015. Adecco Group, the world's leading provider of Human Resources solutions, celebrated its third 'Street Day.' Once again, more than 7,300 Adecco people in over 1,130 cities in 54 countries hit the streets to help combat youth unemployment. Adecco's 2015 'Street Day' takes to almost 2.2 million the number of people reached since launch in 2013.

The jobs market for young people remains difficult, notably in much of Europe, where many economies are improving only slowly. In its effort to make a difference, Adecco's 'Street Day', now in its third year, saw thousands of Adecco people around the world meeting job seekers in the streets, public places, schools and universities for careers guidance and free training.

In all, an estimated 1.2 million people were reached in initiatives spanning 1,130 cities in 54 countries. Some 470 schools and universities were visited and a total of 1,000 coaching sessions were held, including more than 1,700 Adecco branch open days.

The sessions included tips on best practice, advice on interview techniques and CV preparation, as well as motivational letters. 'Street Day' is part of the wider Adecco Way to Work™ programme, which also offers an online career centre with tips, educational material and internship opportunities.

Until May 1st, candidates in 33 countries can also participate in the Group's 'CEO for One Month' programme. The 33 selected candidates will have the chance to learn directly from Adecco's senior management in their countries of residence and boost their career prospects. After these internships, one of the 33 young people will have the unique opportunity to gain the personal experience of a lifetime. Under the mentorship of Adecco Group CEO Patrick De Maeseneire, the final 'CEO for One Month' will learn about running a Fortune 500 company with 31,000 employees and 20 billion euro in revenues in 2014.

To participate, candidates just need to download the 'CEO for One Month' App on www.adeccowaytowork.com and take three fun tests. Over 2200 aspiring CEOs have already completed their applications.

Cristina Gallud, one of the young people who joined the Adecco 'Street Day' in Madrid, Spain, said: "Thank you for the Adecco 'Street Day'. It is very useful for recent graduates like myself who are facing the first steps in the world of work and don't know where to start. More companies should do initiatives like this".

Mohammed Assad, a 'CEO for One Month' finalist in 2014 who now works for Capgemini, joined the Adecco 'Street Day' team with Patrick De Maeseneire in the Netherlands: "I am very grateful for the opportunities I've gained through the Way to Work programme and my one-month Adecco Experience. Wherever I will work, Adecco is and will always be the centre of my career. I feel like I am still part of the Adecco family - so, of course, I readily agreed to take part in Street Day! This time it was my chance to help other young people and encourage them to use the expert advice Adecco is offering. Everyone deserves a chance and Adecco helps you to reach your goals".
