AEON TOWN Co.,Ltd. agreed to acquire land at Aira-shi, Kagoshima from Aeon Kyushu Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ:2653) for ¥1.6 billion on July 22, 2016. A contract is expected to be signed on August 19, 2016. The deal was resolved by the Board of Directors of Aeon Kyushu on July 22, 2016. The deal is expected to be closed by August 19, 2016.

AEON KYUSHU CO.,LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the general retail business and the home center business in the Kyushu region. The Company operates in two business segments. The General Retail segment is engaged in the sale of clothing products, food, as well as information communication equipment, cosmetics, drugs, miscellaneous daily goods, bedclothes, bath products and other housing leisure related products, and the operation of general merchandise stores (GMS) under the names of AEON and AEON SUPERCENTER. The Home Center segment is engaged in the sale of construction materials, lumber, repairing materials, household goods, pets supplies, garden supplies, as well as the operation of home centers (HC) under the names of HOME WIDE and Super Wide Mart. The Company is also engaged in the sale of food, pharmaceuticals and bicycle related products.
