ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) _ AeroVironment Inc. (AVAV) on Tuesday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $6.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Arlington, Virginia-based company said it had a loss of 27 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, came to less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The maker of unmanned aircrafts posted revenue of $111.6 million in the period.

AeroVironment expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.26 to $1.58 per share, with revenue in the range of $505 million to $525 million.

AeroVironment shares have increased 37% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $85.15, an increase of 6.5% in the last 12 months.
