Today, the Minister of Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer pressed the button to start a new slitter in "Alcomet". The machine, together with the purchased other equipment for cross-cutting rolls, which will be installed in the coming months, is worth a total of 5.4 million euros. At the opening of the investment, Minister Daniel Lorer said the government would continue to support companies such as Alcomet in order to grow the economy. "We are constantly trying to improve production, to produce more innovative products. This year the figures are very good. Since the beginning of the year, we have sold products for BGN 350 million, 95% of which were for export. This morning the colleagues made calculations, which showed that we made 1% of Bulgaria's exports", said the Chairman of the Supervisory board of Alcomet Fikret Ince.

The new slitter is in addition to the SMS 6-high-cold-rolling mill launched in 2020 - one of the company's largest investments worth 30 nilion euros. With the new machines in Rolling Shop 2, the capacity of the rolling products is expected to increase by 25%, and the company will be able to produce 75,000 - 80,000 tons per year. Machines for 2.3 million euros will be invested in the Casting shop, too. It will be equipped with a new tilting melting furnace and a second homogenization furnace for billets used for the production and processing of profiles.

The total capacity for rolled and pressed products will increase by 21% and will reach an annual quantity of 111,000 T. After the commissioning of all new equipments, 35 new jobs are expected to be created.
