OAKVILLE, Ontario (AP) _ Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN) on Friday reported a loss of $195.2 million in its third quarter.

The Oakville, Ontario-based company said it had a loss of 29 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 11 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 16 cents per share.

The utility operator posted revenue of $666.7 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $614.8 million.

Algonquin Power & Utilities shares have declined 20% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 20% in the last 12 months.
