NEW YORK (AP) _ Ambac Financial Group Inc. (AMBC) on Thursday reported a loss of $29 million in its second quarter.

The New York-based company said it had a loss of 63 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 30 cents per share.

The bond insurer posted revenue of $49 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $60 million.

Ambac shares have dropped almost 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $14.65, a climb of roughly 10% in the last 12 months.
