Applus+ has reached an agreement with the Spanish company Indoor Climate Management S.L. (Indoorclima), a provider of energy efficiency and energy management services. It includes a minority investment by Applus+ in Indoorclima and a collaboration agreement to promote Indoorclima's service offering globally.

Indoorclima´s primary services are driven by powerful algorithms developed and utilised over the last 10 years using extensive Big Data built from its practical use with Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) installations from different manufacturers, technologies and climate zones. The SGClima technology allows Indoorclima to monitor the entire energy consumption of any asset as well as to manage climate energy consumption and air quality, transforming large facilities (hotels, hospitals, shopping malls) into intelligent and sustainable buildings.

This is done by digitalising the client's facility and climate network, which enables Indoorclima to manage the entire ecosystem through Big Data and artificial intelligence.

Javier López Serrano, Executive Vice President of Applus+ Energy & Industry Division, says: "This agreement is perfectly aligned with our strategy to strengthen our service portfolio with high value-added services in attractive markets with best-in-class technology. Indoorclima's services will allow us to offer our clients cutting-edge technology capable of creating an intelligent management system that will transform facilities into Smart Buildings, significantly increasing their energy efficiency".

Indoorclima has a local office in Barcelona and mainly operates in Spain, but it also has an international presence expected to significantly grow with Applus+ support.

Indoorclima's services and proprietary technology contribute to sustainability and lead to (1) significant reductions in energy consumption, costs and carbon footprint, as well as to (2) improvement in air quality and comfort, (3) extension of equipment life and (4) predictive maintenance that reduces downtime.
