Arcadia Biosciences, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

Arcadia Biosciences, Inc. announced it has appointed Kevin Comcowich, current Chairman of the Arcadia Board of Directors, as interim chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2022, as the board of directors finalizes its search for a permanent CEO. As previously announced on September 7, 2021, the board of directors launched a national search for a new CEO as the company further expands into the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector. Comcowich will continue to serve as board chair, a role he was appointed to in 2017. He joined the Arcadia board as an independent director in 2016 and previously served as chair of the audit committee. Matthew Plavan, Arcadia's CEO since 2019, will be departing the company as of December 31, 2021.
Arcadia Biosciences, Inc. is a producer and marketer of plant-based food and beverage products. The Company is engaged in developing crop improvements, primarily in wheat, designed to enhance farm economics by improving the performance of crops in the field, as well as their value as food ingredients. The Company is using non-genetically modified (non-GMO) advanced breeding techniques to develop products. Its product portfolio includes GoodWheat Pasta, GoodWheat Pancakes and Waffle Mixes, GoodWheat Mac and Cheese, Zola Coconut Water, and GoodWheat Wheat Traits. Its GoodWheat pasta has five varieties of penne, spaghetti, fettuccine, elbows, and rotini. Its GoodWheat pancake and waffle mixes are sold in resealable, multi-serve pouches, and mixes are available in three varieties, including buttermilk, chocolate chip and apple cinnamon. It operates under Saavy Naturals, Soul Spring, and ProVault brands. ProVault, is a THC-free CBD sports performance formula made with natural ingredients.
