DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Asensus Surgical, Inc. (ASXC) on Thursday reported a loss of $17.2 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Durham, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 7 cents.

The maker of surgical robots and medical instruments posted revenue of $5.4 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $78.4 million, or 31 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $8.6 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit 28 cents. A year ago, they were trading at 69 cents.
