AtkinsRealis, a fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world, has been named as a Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency's latest framework - to help better understand the impact of climate change and risk of flooding for communities in England.

Under the 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework AtkinsRealis will provide the Environment Agency with survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological and other professional services to help identify and plan for climate events.

The new framework has been launched to produce more detailed insights and evidence into future flood and coastal risk, enabling the Environment Agency to continue to make informed investment decisions nationally and locally, utilising the skills of delivery partners to develop and maintain data and evidence that underpins its work.

AtkinsRealis' appointment builds on its extensive working relationship with the Environment Agency, including previous Mapping and Modelling projects via the Collaborative Delivery Framework in the South West and elsewhere.

Simon Leek, Environment Agency client director at AtkinsRealis, said: 'This is a significant programme that will help the Environment Agency understand better the impact of climate change and reduce the risk of flooding to communities across England, including the vital response required to support communities that have been flooded.

'We are looking forward to taking on the national Delivery Partner role with the Environment Agency, as we continue to grow our relationship and broaden the services we can offer including industry-leading solutions and our digital expertise to address the challenges of climate change through this appointment.'

The scope of work for AtkinsRealis as part of the framework includes Environment Agency's National Incident Management Programme, National MMF Programme, Area MMF programme and Skills & Training. AtkinsRealis has been named as one of six suppliers on the national framework which is valued at GBP52.5 million over three years (with the option of an additional year worth up to GBP17.5 million).

Sonya Evans, 2024 MMF Framework Manager, Environment Agency, said: 'The Mapping and Modelling Framework underpins the work of the Environment Agency, enabling our teams to make informed investment decisions based on data and evidence. The high standard of tender submissions shows the skills and capabilities of the UK industry, and we look forward to working with the successful delivery partners both nationally and locally.'

Ben Gardner, Framework Renewals Programme Manager, employer, said: 'The new Mapping and Modelling Framework builds on the success and learning from the previous framework, and we would like to thank everyone who has been involved in its development. At the heart of all our frameworks is collaboration and innovation, delivering projects together that protect and enhance communities and the environment.'
