AURES introduce KWARTZ Worldwide,

a universal, innovative and high-performance KIOSK Solution for cost-controlled and optimised investments.

Lisses - October 2023; AURES has unveiled KWARTZ, the latest addition to its range of interactive ordering kiosks. User-friendly, innovative and high-performance, it is accessible (in every way), lightweight, highly flexible and modular.

  • Developed and designed for international deployments
In the KIOSK sector, there are many local and regional specificities and constraints in terms of standards and certifications; requirements regarding electrical safety, consumption and operating voltages often differ from one continent and sometimes even from one region or country to another. It is therefore often difficult for a manufacturer to anticipate local prerequisites before assembling and mounting and the kiosks.
  • Exclusive AURES innovation
To overcome this constraint and enable differentiation (for future localisation) as late as possible, AURES has rethought the design of the KWARTZ kiosk towards ever greater adaptability, with a view to rationalising production; This translates into considerable time savings during assembly and in the management of component stocks, which will benefit AURES clients in terms of both production times and costs, while offering functionalities that will make it possible to limit intervention budgets (maintenance, etc.) and therefore the TCO (total cost of ownership).
Like the other kiosks of the AURES range, KWARTZ' development and manufacturing are "French made".
  • New patented Controlled Power Supply Module
The major innovation in terms of KWARTZ's international adaptability is its multi-voltageControlled Power Supply Module, an AURES exclusivity for which a patent is currently pending. Thanks to this module, the KIOSK solution will be immediately adaptable to current international norms and standards.
    • Power supply accepting 100 to 240V - 50 to 60 Hz
    • Only the mains cable needs to be changed, depending on the country of destination.

  • Remote controlling of sub-systems and peripherals
As well as being almost immediately adaptable to mandatory local standards, this specific AURES Module will enable remote piloting of the KWARTZ, particularly with regard to the control of sub-systems and integrated peripherals (payment module, ticket printer, etc.), a significant advantage for unattended kiosks.
As a result, switching a peripheral device off or on remotely will become child's play; the intervention of a maintenance technician on site will no longer be essential.
  • A lightweight kiosk that's quick and easy to install and maintain
Optimising the design of KWARTZ also means reducing its weight. This is achieved thanks to the use of light but resistant sheet metal just 1.5 mm thick, enabling the kiosk to weigh less than 30 kilos.
As a result, the solution can be moved very easily and a single technician is thus in a position to install and dismantle it, with significant repercussions in terms of transport, deployment and maintenance costs.
    • For even greater convenience when installing and connecting, KWARTZ can be powered either from the top of the kiosk or from the bottom, as required.
    • The use of simplified and more resistant screws (which are widely used in the automotive industry) will also facilitate KWARTZ's installation and maintenance operations (faster unscrewing and screwing back together - and more resistant screws over time).
  • Flexibility, Modularity and Customisation at your fingertips

In addition to its adaptability to the electrical standards and constraints of the different regions of the world (see above), AURES has developed a front panel for KWARTZ that can be fully customised and easily replaced on site.

This is an advantage in the event of damage or vandalism - or to allow total customisation and possible modifications to the customer's or operator's graphic charter and brand identity. This is made possible by the possibility of printing the front panels of KWARTZ kiosks in a 4-colour process, freeing them from the constraints of silk-screen printing and traditional sticking methods (with the added advantage that the print lasts much longer).

The KWARTZ kiosk solution is available in 3 versions: single-sided on its stand (fixed to the floor), standalone (free standing on its base or ground plate) and wall-mounted.

  • Special integrated niche-support for Eftpos terminals
KWARTZ boasts a dedicated area specially designed to easily accommodate and integrate the majority of electronic payment terminals on the market:
    • These are no longer fixed directly to the metal sheet on the front of the kiosk, but housed in a special niche- support for easy access. This makes it very convenient to switch Eftpos terminals and integrate new systems if required, in no time at all.
    • The electrical connections for the payment modules are accessible and simplified; there's no need to modify the main wiring, just a small adapter to change from one Eftpos model to another.

KWARTZ's scalability is a reality not only in mechanical terms, but also from an electrical point of view: the cable harnesses are pre-positioned in the Eftpos zone, as it is usual in the automotive industry - and no longer require the routing of specific strands depending on the type of payment system involved.

Conclusion: streamlining your KIOSK IT Asset Management and Optimising your Budget

Thanks to these various innovations and a few trade-offs between essential design requirements and cost considerations, AURES was able - in just a few months - to develop a new concept of quality kiosk at the best possible price.

With KWARTZ and the rationalisation of its design, R&D and manufacturing programmes, the AURES teams are able to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable KIOSK solutions that are easy to adapt and maintain over time; And whatever the region concerned, with improved value for money and TCO.
