(Alliance News) - Avingtrans PLC on Monday said Roger McDowell is extending his temporary break as chair but will return before the end of this month.

Avingtrans is a Cambridgeshire-based company that supplies components to the energy, medical and industrial sectors.

In June, Avingtrans said that McDowell would take a sabbatical for "family health reasons". In his absence, Senior Independent Director Les Thomas has been interim chair

At the time, the company said McDowell would resume duties in September. On Monday, Avingtran said McDowell is extending his leave but is expected to resume his duties as chair on September 26. Thomas will continue to act as chair in his absence.

McDowell also is chair of Hargreaves Services PLC and Flowtech Fluidpower PLC. On Thursday last week, the two companies had said he would be extending his leave until October. Flowtech said this was due to a bereavement.

Avingtrans shares were up 1.3% at 390.00 pence on Monday morning in London.
