B&M European Value Retail S A : Ecstatic To Open New Store on Market Street, Ely

B&M were delighted to open a new store in Ely, Cambridgeshire on Thursday the 6th of March at 8am. The new store has brought a welcome boost to the local economy by creating over thirty jobs. The people of Ely will not be disappointed with more opportunity to get the brands they love at prices that can't be beat.

After taking possession of a previous Wilko store the B&M team completed an extensive internal and external refurbishment programme resulting in over 13,000sqft of high quality shopping space.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Ely Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Ely Foodbank is a is part of the Trussell Trust national network of food banks. Their aim is to not have anyone in their community go hungry, which is why they provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. Their operation focuses on three key aspects: providing emergency food, signing posting to other supportive services, and directly helping people find long-term solutions to their issues. With over 100 dedicated volunteers, Ely Foodbank are working together to combat poverty and hunger across Ely.

The store manager from B&M said: "We're feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store."

The store manager also commented: "Ely Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do."
