Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon PLC - Invests for capital growth from small Japanese companies - Says Neil Donaldson, a non-executive director and chair of the board of directors, will retire from the board at the 2023 annual general meeting, where he will not seek re-election.

Jamie Skinner, a non-executive director, will be appointed as the new chair of the board.

Current stock price: 157.10 pence, down 0.6% on Friday

Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon PLC is a United Kingdom-based investment company. The objective of the Company is to pursue long-term capital growth through investment in small Japanese companies. The portfolio is constructed through the identification of individual companies which offer long-term growth potential, typically over a three-to-five-year horizon. The Company may invest in the United Kingdom and Overseas domiciled pooled funds, including United Kingdom-listed investment trusts, that invest principally in Japanese securities. The portfolio consists of predominantly listed equity holdings, however, unlisted investments may also be held. The Company invests in various sectors, including communication services, consumer discretionary, consumer staples, financials, healthcare, industrials, information technology, materials and real estate. The Companyâs alternative investment fund manager is Baillie Gifford & Co Limited.
