BNY Mellon has announced that it has appointed Nitin Chandel as head of BNY Mellon Technology, India. In his new role based in Pune, India, Chandel will lead a global technology team of close to 7,000 across Chennai and Pune. He will help drive technology transformation, focusing on digitisation and infrastructure resiliency. He will also lead recruitment and retention of top technology talent. Chandel will report to Bridget Engle, senior executive vice president and chief information officer of BNY Mellon. Chandel has previously been with Visa Inc. where he was senior vice president for its Developer Platform. He led a global team from India focused on making its services available as APIs to help partners develop new commerce and payment experiences. He has also developed Visa's India Technology Center in Bengaluru. Before Visa, Chandel had served in several senior technology roles at Microsoft in Bengaluru, India and in the company's corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington, U.S.
