Bankinter is expanding the on-line services it offers to help customers with their transactions. The bank has just launched a new function that lets customers deactivate their cards and reactivate them whenever they like.

This new option is useful in cases where cardholders lose their cards but do not wish to block them completely so as to not be without a means of payment in the event that they find them again. It also comes in handy if cards are stolen. It allows cardholders to deactivate their cards and 'turn them off' (apagarla in Spanish, which is the name of the command) until they decide to permanently block them and request a new card.

The 'turn off' and 'turn on' command (originally in Spanish, apagado and encendido, respectively) can be quickly and directly activated by simply pushing a button that appears under the 'Tarjetas' (Cards) section on both the Bankinter app and the bank's website www.bankinter.com via mobile phone, tablet or computer.

When users wish to reactivate their method of payment, the procedure is also easy and quick. They only need to press the 'turn on' (encendido) to activate their cards and sign using their coordinate cards.

With demonstrated success in technological and digital innovation, Bankinter is enhancing the digital banking products and services it offers in order to provide its customers with the best advantages made possible by technology. In the second quarter this year, the bank also launched the new digital 'Broker', redesigning the website of this service to make it more functional and more user-friendly for customers.
