Basler Kantonalbank will concentrate on the Basel region of Switzerland, after closing its private banking branches in Zurich and Bern. About 40 members of staff will be affected by the closures. Basler Kantonalbank expects that by concentrating on the Basel region, it can achieve a better quality of customer service and improve the value of the existing business.
The closure of the Zurich and Bern branches will be completed by 2014-end at the latest.
