BBVA has named Antonio José Hernández Corona as its head of institutional asset allocation, following his predecessor, Alberto Gómez-Reino, moving to become head of sustainable investment. Hernández Corona has more than 23 years’ investment management experience and has spent the last 13 years overseeing Sicav products at BBVA. He will now lead a team responsible for managing the occupational pension plan portfolios, as well as those of wider institutional clients. Gómez-Reino moved to become head of sustainable investment for the asset manager in February 2020. In the sustainable investment team, Gómez-Reino works closely with Valle Fernández, Javier Apiñániz and Inmaculada Ansoleaga, and the team is responsible for all aspects related to sustainability within investment activities. This includes defining and monitoring integration policies around ESG elements in the investment process and the definition and monitoring of investment policies for specifically sustainable products included in BBVA AM’s operation.
