Today BIMobject Group has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining shares of Carbonzero AB from the founders Daniel Olausson and Rasmus Ekberg as well as from other minority investors, after which Daniel and Rasmus will receive shares in BIMobject as well as join the BIMobject Management Team. The acquisition is made at the value of approx 40 MSEK.

Since the acquisition 1.5 years ago, I’m delighted to have first hand witnessed the progress that the team of Carbonzero has achieved. Throughout this period Carbonzero has successfully positioned itself as a reliable information provider for all stakeholders in the building process, enabling smart and effective project management, sustainability reporting as well as intelligent specification handling which compliments the business model of BIMobject exceptionally well. On a personal note, I’m also looking forward to working even closer with Rasmus and Daniel. By joining forces we will be able to further accelerate the pace towards our joint vision”, comments Martin Lindh, CEO of BIMobject.

By being part of BIMobject Group fully, we can capture synergies when it comes to utilising the product offering and platforms of both companies as well as leverage the network to accelerate scaling. We are on a joint journey of bringing change to the industry and to capture the long term potential of working together”, comments Rasmus Ekberg, CEO of Carbonzero AB

Carbonzero enables sustainable and effective construction by being an incorporated part of the decision making process. This is achieved by offering a project platform (Prodikt.com) enabling active product selections where suppliers can clearly demonstrate both the technical performance of their products as well as the sustainability profile. Property owners, designers, consultants or entrepreneurs can easily find the very products and systems that meet their specific requirements and can clearly see the profile of the unique products and the overall impact of their project. Apart from the platform, Carbonzero also develops environmental product declarations (EPDs) for building product manufacturers and works closely with distributors to ensure product transparency of sustainability data in all parts of the building process.

Closing of the transaction is expected to occur in December 2023.
