WATERLOO, Ontario (AP) _ BlackBerry Ltd. (BB) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $74 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Waterloo, Ontario-based company said it had net income of 5 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.

The cybersecurity software and services company posted revenue of $184 million in the period.

BlackBerry shares have increased 40% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $9.25, an increase of 30% in the last 12 months.
