FOSHAN, China (AP) _ Bright Scholar Education Holdings Ltd. (BEDU) on Wednesday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Foshan, China-based company said it had a loss of 6 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 5 cents per share.

The provider of international education to Chinese students posted revenue of $125 million in the period.

Bright Scholar shares have risen roughly 1% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $5.80, a fall of nearly 7% in the last 12 months.
