Expanded Relationship with Horiba Allows Cardinal Health to Service All Areas of Hospital Lab

DUBLIN, Ohio, April 24, 2014 - Cardinal Health today announced the expansion of its distribution relationship with HORIBA Medical to include hematology instrumentation, enabling Cardinal Health to service all areas of the hospital lab.

HORIBA Medical's hematology line is designed for rapid, economical and easy analysis to help improve turnaround time from testing to diagnosis. These automated analyzers meet the needs of various users, including physician office laboratories and small- to large-size hospitals.

This new collaboration enhances the breadth of the Cardinal Health lab automated instrumentation portfolio. Under the new agreement, customers will have access to HORIBA Medical's full line of hematology instrumentation, including:

  • Pentra DX Nexus, a high throughput bench-top analyzer using traditional cytochemical staining for blood cell differentials
  • Pentra XL80, an efficiency-driven, five-part DIFF bench-top design with integrated validation analysis
  • Pentra 60C+, a five-part DIFF bench-top design suited for smaller sample workloads and a complement to the Pentra XL80 when two systems are needed to address the needs of a fast-paced hematology laboratory

HORIBA Medical equips more than 30,000 laboratories worldwide and produces nearly 7,500 analyzers per year and more than 10,000 tons of reagents.
