Activity levels in Guyana’s offshore zone have remained high over the last week. Canada’s CGX Energy has confirmed plans to move ahead with the drilling of two exploration wells at the Corentyne and Demerara blocks offshore Guyana, while ExxonMobil (US) is preparing for the return of a faulty compressor unit to the Liza Destiny, the floating production, storage and off-loading (FPSO) vessel it has installed at the Liza-1 oilfield within the Stabroek block.

ExxonMobil has also experienced a disappointment at a nearby block, though. The US super-major reported last week that Bulletwood-1, a wildcat well drilled at the Canje block, had been found not to contain commercial hydrocarbon reserves. It is due to sink two more wells at Canje this year.
