Civmec Limited announced that construction has commenced for its new facility in Port Hedland. A Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony was held by Alfred Baker before the Mayor of Port Hedland Peter Carter and Pat Tallon the CEO of Civmec both addressed guests, including local dignitaries, clients and members of the local Indigenous and non-Indigenous community, at the site of Civmec's latest planned engineering and manufacturing facility at the Wedgefield site in Port Hedland. A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held after the speeches, which marked the commencement of construction of the facility, described by Pat Tallon as: "The land we're standing on - 50,000 square metres - will feature a workshop and office facility of approximately 5,000-square-metres.

Put into perspective that's the footprint of four Olympic-size swimming pools or could house over 550 SUV vehicles undercover.
