Kolkata, 25 August, 2014: CMC Limited has been recognised by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
as one of the top 7 companies in India for consistently fostering excellent corporate governance practices. The Company was conferred with Certificate of Recognition for the fourth consecutive year at the 13th ICSI National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance - 2013 presentation ceremony held at Kolkata on 24 August, 2014.
Arun Jaitley, Hon'ble Minister of Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs presented the award to CMC's
MD & CEO - R Ramanan, CFO - JK Gupta, and Company Secretary- Vivek Agarwal.
Speaking on the occasion, R Ramanan, said, "This is a coveted recognition for CMC's commitment to the highest levels of corporate governance, fourth time in a row, from the prestigious institution of the Institute of Company Secretaries India. It was also a matter of great pride and honour to receive it from Arun Jaitley, the honourable Union Minister of

The "ICSI National Awards for Excellence in Corporate Governance" were instituted by the ICSI in the year 2001, in pursuit of excellence and to identify, foster and reward the culture of evolving globally acceptable standards of corporate governance among Indian companies. The ICSI jury this year comprised of galaxy of eminent personalities, headed by Hon'ble Mr. Justice MN Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India.
