The board of directors of CNMC Goldmine Holdings Limited, together with its subsidiaries, has announced that the company has appointed four advisors to provide strategic guidance and counsel to the Executive Directors on the Board. Academician Zhao Pengda, Professor Xiao Rong Ge, Dato Nik Kamaruddin Ismail, and Dato' Sri Nik Othman Nik Hussein will serve as advisors for 12 months with effect from 18 October 2016. They will advise on matters relating to mining and social affairs. The appointment of the advisors is for an initial period of 12 months and is renewed for such period as may be agreed by the company and the advisors. Academician Zhao is the Commissioner of the State Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council of China and President of the China University of Geosciences. He received the top prize from the International Mathematics Geology Association in 1992 for his contributions to the field of mathematics in geology as a researcher and educator. Professor Xiao obtained a PhD in Professional Geology from the China University of Geosciences, where he currently mentors doctoral students. Specialising in geology, mineral exploration and economic evaluation, he was involved in research projects with several Chinese government agencies and research bodies, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Land and Resources, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research has earned him several awards from the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, and the Ministry of Land and Resources. Professor Xiao published a monograph in 2009 entitled Mineralization Rules and Anticipation of Gold Minerals in the Innermost Part of Xiao Qin Ling. Dato Nik Kamaruddin has extensive senior management experience in the private and public sectors in Malaysia. His management experience includes 3M Corporation, FACB Group, Television Malaysia (TV3) and Petaling Tin Bhd. Dato Nik was appointed Ahli Majlis of SPN Kelantan (Member of the Kelantan State Service Commission) and Majlis Agama Islam Kelantan (MAIK, the Kelantan religious council) to help govern the two bodies. He currently serves as Setiausaha Kehormat (Honorary Secretary) in Yayasan Sultan Kelantan (a Kelantan State Foundation) and is Special Advisor to Yang Teramat Mulia, Yang DiPertua MAIK, Tengku Mahkota Kelantan, Tengku Dr. Mohammad Fa-iz Petra. Dato' Sri Nik Othman has worked in several government bodies in Malaysia, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Urban Development Authority. He also has extensive experience in the corporate world, having worked in the manufacturing, real estate and coal mining sectors in Malaysia and Indonesia. He ventured into coal mining in Indonesia in the first half of the last decade, supported by Malaysian utilities giant Tenaga Nasional. Dato' Sri Nik Othman is a shareholder of Pulai Mining Sdn Bhd.
