Principal environmental scientist Kathryn Burton recently joined Coffey in a key appointment that will further boost our expertise in the transport and property infrastructure industries.

Kathryn brings more than 15 years of experience working in environmental impact assessment and planning approvals, environmental auditing, environmental management and sustainable development.

General Manager Environments NSW/ACT Lawrence Smith said the appointment provided crucial environmental management experience as new transport and property infrastructure projects got underway.

'New South Wales in particular is seeing a great deal of new infrastructure being developed, and the environmental requirements right at the start of these projects are crucial to their long term success,' Lawrence said.

'Kathryn's extensive experience in this field boosts our capabilities in the transport and property infrastructure industries.'

Kathryn will deliver environmental services to Coffey's clients working on road, rail, port and utilities projects, as well as supporting key projects driven by urban growth on the east coast of Australia.

'I am excited to be working in my new role at Coffey, to support our clients achieve their environmental approvals,' Kathryn said.

'There are many exciting transport infrastructure opportunities in NSW and I am looking forward to working with this team of highly experienced environmental approvals specialists on some of these projects.'

Kathryn has held a range of senior environmental management roles for companies including Parsons Brinckerhoff and Arup.
