The Safe Way Awards IFAP/CGU Safe Way Achiever Awards recognise best practice in workplace safety by employers in Western Australia. The award recognises organisations who achieve a high level of safety standards in their commitment to safety through excellence in training, established systems and procedures and achievement of safety objectives.

Coffey Environments was successful in achieving awards in two categories; a Gold Safe Way Achiever Award and a Lost Time Injury Performance Award.

Coffey Information also achieved awards, winning a Silver Safe Way Achiever Award and a Lost Time Injury Performance Award.

Scott Myles, Coffey's Group HSSE Manager, said he was pleased to again see the industry recognising Coffey for safety.

"Safety is a top priority at Coffey. These awards are very important as it is acknowledgement by the industry that Coffey embraces the importance of keeping our workplaces safe and ensuring our employees work safely - both of which have a direct impact on reducing incident frequency and severity."

"I'm very pleased that Coffey Information has been recognised - they have worked extremely hard and implemented many new safety initiatives. We are proud to also have Coffey Environments' commitment to safety recognised again for the third year running" Scott said.

The Safe Way Achiever Award acknowledges organisations that set their own targets for safety improvements which they plan to achieve over a six month period and demonstrate a commitment to safety through implemented programs.

The Lost Time Injury Performance Award recognises proactive workplaces that achieve no work-related injuries that results in an employee missing a whole shift of work, over a six month period and also implement three safety initiatives.

Congratulations to the staff in Coffey Environments Western Australia and Coffey Information Welshpool including Chris Coyle, HSSE Co-ordinator, for their hard work and dedication, resulting in a triumphant night at this year's IFAP/CGU Safe Way Awards.
