Colas SA Reports Earnings Results for the Full Year Ended December 31, 2020

Colas SA announced earnings results for the full year ended December 31, 2020. For the full year, the company announced sales was EUR 12,297 million compared to EUR 13,688 million a year ago. Operating income was EUR 185 million compared to EUR 405 million a year ago. Net income was EUR 94 million compared to EUR 261 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was EUR 2.88 compared to EUR 7.99 a year ago.

Colas is the world leader in road construction. Net sales break down by activity as follows: - construction, maintenance, and outfitting of infrastructures (91.3%): roads, highways, airports, logistical platforms, etc. The group also develops an activity of production and marketing of construction materials (granulates, emulsions, binders, concrete, etc.); - specialty activities (8.7%): railroad construction and updating, fabrication of watertight sealing products (asphalt for waterproofing buildings, parking lots, and bridges and for paving sidewalks and city streets and building sealing products), manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of road equipment (road signs, safety and traffic management), construction of channels and maintenance of civil engineering networks, etc. Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: France (40.2%), Europe (22.4%), North America (29.6%) and other (7.8%).
