VMA contributes to the construction of the first of a hundred ENOUGH meat substitute factories in Europa

Sint-Martens-Latem, 6 December 2023 - VMA, a reference in the automation of production processes and part of the CFE Group, has completed the first European factory for the company ENOUGH, which produces sustainable ABUNDA mycoprotein for the meat substitute market.

The new plant, with an area of 15,000 m², was equipped by VMA with all the necessary hardware and software to enable an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of ABUNDA mycoprotein.

The Scottish company chose VMA to help build the first of one 100 European factories, an ambition it aims to achieve by 2032. VMA provided complete automation and programming of the production process (Manufacturing Operations Management, Manufacturing Execution System, Electrical & Instrumentation, Automation, and Data Management).

The factory runs on the zero-waste principle and can replace 5 million cows or 1.2 billion chickens annually. This is equivalent to 6 million tons of CO2 emissions or 30 million trees.
