SAO PAULO, Nov 21 (Reuters) - The Brazilian state of Parana intends to turn local power company Companhia Paranaense de Energia into a firm with dispersed ownership and no controlling shareholder, the state-run utility said in a securities filing on Monday.

According to the firm, popularly known as Copel, recently re-elected Governor Ratinho Junior said in a letter to the company that the move would happen through a secondary follow-on share offering aimed at raising money for the state's investment needs.

Under the move, Parana would still retain at least 15% of Copel's share capital and 10% of its voting capital, the company added. The Southern Brazilian state currently owns nearly 70% of Copel's voting capital. (Reporting by Gabriel Araujo; Editing by Steven Grattan)
