PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. (AP) _ Crawford & Co. (CRD.A) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $9.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Peachtree Corners, Georgia-based company said it had net income of 18 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 23 cents per share.

The provider of claims management services to insurance companies posted revenue of $265.6 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $257.4 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $28.3 million, or 54 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $982.5 million.

Crawford shares have risen 31% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $9.70, an increase of 31% in the last 12 months.
