The latest Delta Air Lines news covering business, health and safety, leadership, routes and waivers, Delta people, our values and more.

Delta has been listed as one of the top 100 companies on Forbes' 2022 Best Employers for Diversity list. Forbes composes the list based on research by Statista, an independent market research firm. The evaluation was based on criteria including direct recommendations from employees, indirect recommendations from non-employee survey participants and diversity among top executives. Delta's diversity strategy is holistic and focuses on age, gender equality, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQ+ and general diversity concerning their employer.

This is the fifth year the list has been published. Statista conducted an independent survey from a representative sample of 60,000 employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people in the U.S. Respondents. At Delta, we are dedicated to actively seeking diversity, boldly pursuing equity and consciously promoting inclusion for all. Our employees have the opportunity to join 10 Business Resource Groups that connect them with their self-identified communities with over 25,000 members.

"We know that our work in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion has to be intentional and with an eye toward making systemic change." said Keyra Lynn Johnson, Delta's Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. "As we work to connect, reflect and respect the communities we serve, we also have increased our focus on growing our diverse talent pool and driving more equity-focused outcomes. This recognition from our employees and the public acknowledges that we're making progress and headed in the right direction - but we know there's still much work to be done."

As Delta makes equity a key focus of its business, the airline has begun applying a "skills-first" mindset that focuses on capabilities, competencies and relevant experiences, providing frontline employees the opportunity to transition into corporate career positions while providing targeted development and mentors who help them grow and mature in their new roles. This exploration of non-traditional career paths marks another milestone in the company's efforts to ensure leadership at all levels reflects Delta's diverse workforce.

New skills-first career development programs remove career barriers of four-year degrees and support economic equity through access to higher-earning jobs across the company.

Delta's commitment to equity is also supported by various other efforts, including an expanded partnership with Operation Hope to support the One Million Black Business and Entrepreneur Initiative and continued support as a founding member of OneTen.

With commitments laid out in the August 2020 memo from Delta Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian to advance racial justice and diversity within our business, Delta will continue sharing updates and progress on our goal to become an equitable, anti-racist organization.

Delta has reimagined its recruitment strategy to better reflect the communities where we work and live, which includes strengthening partnerships with historically Black universities. Recently, Delta partnered with Hampton University on the Propel Collegiate Pilot Career Path Program to build upon the significant legacy people of color have contributed to aviation.

As the airline works to better reflect the diversity of the world it serves, this partnership helps broaden diversity and builds upon the significant legacy people of color have contributed to aviation.

At Delta, we are committed to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion as part of our work to connect and reflect the world. Our commitment to inclusion was recognized in our recent awards. Delta was named the No. 1 Transportation Company - by The JUST 100: Companies Doing Right by America and No.1 Highest-Rated Company for Career Opportunities for Black Employees by Glassdoor.
