DuPont and Dow Chemical announced the appointment of several executives to senior leadership roles within the future DowDuPont business, pending the merger between the two companies that is scheduled for the second half of 2016. The companies confirmed that current Dow CEO and chairman Andrew Liveris will become executive chairman of DowDuPont, while current DuPont CEO and chairman Edward Breen will become CEO of DowDuPont. In addition to other duties, Liveris will have responsibility for the Material Science business, while Breen will have responsibility for the Agriculture and Specialty Products businesses. Both will report to the DowDuPont board of directors, which has yet to be announced. New senior leadership team appointments announced on May 23, 2016 included current Dow CFO and vice chairman Howard Ungerleider, who will become CFO for DowDuPont. DuPont senior vice president and general counsel Stacy Fox will become general counsel for DowDuPont. Current Dow executive vice president and general counsel Charles Kalil will become special counsellor to the executive chairman of DowDuPont, as well as general counsel for the Material Science business. Dow chief operating officer and president Jim Fitterling will become chief operating officer for DowDuPont's Material Science business, which is intended to separate as an independent business, subject to approval by the DowDuPont board. DuPont executive vice president and leader of DuPont's Agriculture business segment, James Collins Jr, will become chief operating officer for DowDuPont's Agriculture business, which is intended to be separated as an independent agricultural company, subject to approval by the DowDuPont board. Current executive vice president and leader of DuPont's Electronics & Communications, Industrial Biosciences, Nutrition & Health, Performance Materials and Safety & Protection businesses, Mark Doyle, will become chief operating officer for DowDuPont's Specialty Products business, which also intends to become an independent business.
