Ecopetrol, in coordination with the Territorial Renewal Agency, delivered to the Ministry of National Education the school equipment for 36 educational centers in the municipality of San Juan de Nepomuceno, in the department of Bolivar, which benefits 7,534 students.

This endowment, supplied through the Works for Taxes mechanism, included 8,246 basic classroom furniture, 292 kitchen furniture, 34,874 household items, 353 furniture for libraries and 2,326 for the rectory and teachers, for a total of 46,091 elements.

In this way, the Company continues to bet on education as one of the essential axes for the social transformation of Colombia.

Additionally, this year Ecopetrol S.A. and its subsidiary Esenttia S.A. will continue to deliver school furniture for 319 educational centers located in municipalities in southern Bolivar (Santa Rosa, Morales, Simiti, Cantagallo, San Pablo and Arenal) and in Montes de Maria (El Carmen De Bolivar, El Guamo, Maria La Baja, San Jacinto and Zambrano).

For this year, Ecopetrol has planned investment lines in education, sports and health in the department of Bolivar; entrepreneurship and business development and community institutional strengthening.

For these lines, 1,600 million pesos have been allocated, which are added to the trajectory of the Business Group as a main investor in the department through the mechanism of Works for Taxes in the PDET and ZOMAC municipalities. Thus, the Company reiterates its commitment to the quality and continuous improvement of education in order to achieve the sustainable development goals in the department of Bolivar.
