Frédéric Dunon confirmed as CEO of Elia Transmission Belgium
As a shareholder in Elia Transmission Belgium, Elia Group can today announce that Frédéric Dunon has been confirmed as Chief Executive Officer of the Belgian system operator.
Frédéric Dunon has been serving as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Elia Transmission Belgium since 1 November 2022.
Since a greater demarcation of tasks and activities between Elia Group and ETB was needed in light of the expansion of the latter's portfolio of activities and clear goals, including in the field of offshore and digital business transformation, the Board of Directors decided to appoint Frédéric Dunon as Chief Executive Officer of Elia Transmission Belgium.
Frédéric has been with Elia for over 20 years, during which time he has held various operational and management positions. On 1 November 2022, Frédéric Dunon was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Elia Transmission Belgium. He also heads up the Executive Management Board of Elia Transmission Belgium and is permanently invited to the meetings of the Executive Management Board of Elia Group.

Elia Group SA/NV owns the entire Belgian very high voltage grid (150 to 380 kV) and some 94% (ownership and user rights) of the Belgian high-voltage grid (30 to 70 kV). The grid is a key link between electricity markets in northern and southern Europe. It also links Belgian producers and consumers. Belgium's recent investment in interconnection capacity with its neighbours makes it one of the most open and interconnected grids in Europe.
Elia Group SA/NV has recently expanded its activities on a broader European level and, following its acquisition of the German TSO 50Hertz and in cooperation with Industry Funds Management (IFM), is now one of the top five transmission system operators in Europe.
