He is a lab technician, a product owner, and a digital dentistry expert. But above all, he is the new Global Product Manager at Elos Medtech Dental. Meet Kostas Zarras, who sets the vision of the next-generation dental products, enables complex digital workflows to reach more dental professionals, and lives by the motto: We do this, and we do it together.

Hi, Kostas! Let us know a little about yourself. Who are you?

My name is Kostas Zarras, and I originally come from Athens, Greece. I am 41 years old, and I have been living in Denmark since 2011. I am a certified dental technician with 10 years of experience in the dental lab environment. I am also a certified product owner and have product management experience in digital dentistry, working for 3Shape for 8 years.

I guess your experience as a dental technician is a great advantage when communicating with customers?

Yes, having education and hands-on experience as a dental technician helps me understand our customers' needs and extend professional communication. It is easier to discuss things such as digital workflows and complex implant structures when you have had that clinical training and practice.

That makes sense. So, why did you pursue a career in the medtech industry in the first place?

For me, it was an obvious choice to work in the medtech industry with products that improve human life and quality. Elos Medtech is a well-known company in the dental industry with a pioneering spirit when it comes to quality solutions.

Please, describe your role at Elos Medtech Dental?

My current role at Elos Medtech is Global Product Manager with a focus on Dental applications. Daily tasks include setting the vision of the next-generation products, simplifying complex procedures through digital workflows, and reaching more dental professionals.

What excites you the most in your job?

What excites me the most is the open workflow that Elos Medtech offers and the opportunity to affect future products in a healthy working environment with competent colleagues. I also enjoy speaking with practitioners, understanding their needs, and designing a solution that facilitates their daily effort to provide better dentistry.

Speaking about needs, what about the dental implant companies? What do they want or wish for today?

The demand for high-quality implant components is growing, and most dental implant companies are looking for a reliable partner that can facilitate open digital workflows for a complete offering. Consistency is a keyword, and emphasis on precise components and uninterrupted production are key factors when it comes to CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) dental products. Elos medtech plays a key role in the medtech industry as we enable this through dental components and digital libraries.
