Enel Chile S.A. (SNSE:ENELCHILE) is looking to sell a stake of up to 49.9% in a company that holds around 780 MW of its solar assets in the country, according to local media reports. Investment bank BTG Pactual Chile has been tasked with finding the buyer, Chilean newspapers El Mercurio and La Tercera reported on 26 March 2024, citing sources with knowledge. The price for 49.9% ownership is expected to be around USD 500 million (EUR 462.2 million), La Tercera's sources said.

The company in question holds the 163-MW Valle del Sol and the 161-MW Sol de Lila solar farms in the Antofagasta region, a 375-MW Campos del Sol plant in Atacama, and the under construction project Don Humberto in the Santiago Metropolitan region. Currently under construction, Don Humberto will have 80 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity and a battery energy storage system of 67 MW. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2024, according to La Tercera's reporting.
