With the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony the new Rayún Nursery and Kindergarten opened this morning in Coronel, an excellent modern facility to serve local children. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of the Coronel Municipality, Leonidas Romero; the Regional Director of Integra Foundation, Gabriela Maldonado, and the Manager of Sustainability and Community Relations of Enersis, Aníbal Chamorro, along with representatives of the community, parents, and benefitted children.

The construction of the Jardín Infantil Rayún stems from an agreement signed in 2014 between the Integra Foundation and Endesa Chile and supported by the Municipality of Coronel, in order to move the school operating in the district's Lo Rojas sector and to build a new facility in the La Peña sector, with better services for local children.

This agreement is the result of a negotiation process started in 2009 with the community, when the need to move the kindergarten was detected to better meet the needs of the population after the relocation of housing done by Endesa Chile since 2008, in the immediate environment of the Bocamina plant complex.

In this context, Endesa Chile defined contributing $250 million to be used to design and build the new facility. It is a modern kindergarten and nursery, that is located in the district's La Peña sector, and which provides service to more than 100 children in four educational levels, from 84 days to 4 years and 11 months of age. The facility has the necessary infrastructure to deliver comfort and security to the educational community.

For Endesa Chile, the Jardín Rayún is an example of the Company's new corporate vision, which seeks to generate significant contributions to community development. Along this line, the generator, which operates the Bocamina thermoelectric complex, is working on a new way of relating to its neighborhood and surroundings, and thereby generating greater opportunities for child development and especially education, since it is a pillar of its social responsibility policy.

The company continues to work on the Social Plan with the community of Coronel, which includes a series of initiatives and programs, such as the construction and delivery of new homes; the implementation of an urban park in Coronel, and the social fund during the useful life of the plant to support the development of Colonel.
