Investor Relations Newsletter - June 26, 2023 Edition

Total energy consumption rises 2.8% in May 2023.

Consumption in May 2023:consolidated free and captive electricity consumption (3192.6 GWh) in Energisa Group's concessions rose by 2.8% compared with the same month last year. The sectors contributing most to the result in the month were residential and industrial, accounting for 82% of the increase, chiefly due to the longer calendar, weather, and food, paper and oil and gas sectors.

In the month, 7 of our 9 distribution companies reported higher energy consumption in their concession areas, led by EPB (8.0% or 31.2 GWh), EMT (1.9% or 15.0 GWh) and ERO (4.6% or 14.0 GWh). The residential sector (4.7% or

56.7 GWh) reported the highest consumption growth in the month, with EPB (14.2% or 24.7 GWh), EMT (4.2% or 11.8 GWh) and ESE (6.7% or 6.8 GWh) enjoying the largest increases. Residential consumption was primarily driven by the longer calendar and warmer weather, especially in the Northeast.

The industrial sector experienced growth of 4.0% (25.9 GWh), with the highest growth at EMT (5.4% or 10.1 GWh), ESS (6.3% or 6.8 GWh) and ESE (20.1% or 6.4 GWh). The industrial result was mainly propelled by the food sector, especially cold storage facilities, with nonmetallic mineral mining and textiles also faring well. The sector other reported growth of 3.3% (13.3 GWh), with the concessions

most impacting this result being: EPB (11.6% or 7.3 GWh), ERO (7.7% or 2.8 GWh) and EMT (3.2% or 2.8 GWh). Government consumption was strong, which continues to rise as civil servants return to the workplace.

The commercial sector saw consumption rise by 0.6% (3.4 GWh), with the result for the month being determined by the concessions of EPB (4.9% or 3.4 GWh), ERO (5.5% or 3.3 GWh) and ETO (1.6% or 0.6 GWh). Primarily driven by the retail, supermarkets and food distribution sectors. Lastly, the rural sector contracted due to the concessions EMT (- 8.4% or -8.1 GWh), EMS (-9.4% or -4.4 GWh) and ESS (-9.2% or -2.4 GWh), primarily impacted by the greater use of distributed generation, low basis1.

Consumption in the first 5 months of 2023:Energisa Group's captive and free electricity consumption (15,815.3 GWh) rose by 1.1% over the same period last year. The residential, industrial and government sectors reported the highest rises in the period, led by the food and metal sectors, with the longer calendar and warmer weather - especially in the north and north-east- also contributing factors. 7 distribution companies reported growth in the five first months of the year, led by EPB (+5.3% or 103.7 GWh), ETO (+6.1% or 61.8 GWh) and ERO (+4.3% or 61.3 GWh).
