Energisa S.A. reported audited consolidated and parent earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2019. For the quarter, on consolidated basis, the company reported revenues of BRL 7,135,660,000 against BRL 5,410,424,000 a year ago. Net operating revenue was BRL 4,764,085,000 compared to BRL 3,672,055,000 a year ago. Earnings before interest and tax was BRL 527,205,000 against BRL 505,780,000 a year ago. Net income for the period was BRL 128,774,000 compared with BRL 142,297,000 a year ago.
For the quarter, on parent basis, the company reported revenue of BRL 53,206,000 against BRL 39,798,000 a year ago. Net operating revenue was BRL 47,035,000 compared to BRL 35,135,000 a year ago. Earnings before interest and tax was BRL 289,300,000 against BRL 264,523,000 a year ago. Net income for the period was BRL 113,522,000 compared to BRL 131,040,000 a year ago.
Energisa SA is a Brazil-based holding company involved in the energy sector. Through its subsidiaries, the Company is mainly engaged in the distribution and marketing of electric energy. It distributes energy for residential, industrial, commercial and rural consumption. The Company operates in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Parana, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, Paraiba, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Tocantins, Rondonia and Acre. In addition to entities engaged in the electric energy distribution, the Company's subsidiaries include Energisa Solucoes SA, which provides services related to generation and distribution of electric power; Energisa Servicos Aereos SA, which provides thermographic inspection services; and Energisa Planejamento e Corretagem Seguros Ltda, involved in the insurance brokerage, among others.
