Nine companies secured contracts in Peru's fourth renewable energy auction to supply 1,300GWh/y from wind, solar and biomass, and 450GWh/y from hydroelectric plants of 20MW or less. The winners were Consorcio Hidroelectrico Sur-Medio (hydro), Consorcio Hydrika 6 (hydro), Edegel (hydro), Empresa Concesionaria Energia Limpia (biomass), Empresa de Generacion Electrica Rio Baños (hydro), Enel Green Power (hydro, solar, wind), Enersur (solar), GR Paino (wind) and GR Taruca (wind). Three wind projects picked up contracts for a combined 739GWh/y, followed by two solar projects for a combined 523GWh/y; six hydropower projects for a combined 448GWh/y, and two biomass projects for a combined 29GWh/y, according to information from energy and mining investment regulator Osinergmin.

In a filing to securities regulator SMV, Enersur said planned investment for its 40MW Intipampa solar project an auction winner reaches $55 million. The process is scheduled to close by May 17 with the referential commercial operations start-up date for the 20-year contracts penciled in for December 2018.
