Xavier Álvarez, member of the compliance committee (CCO) and internal auditor of Ercros, has participated as a speaker in the One-day BCN compliance event organized by Cumplen, an organization that promotes the implementation of criminal compliance in companies. Criminal compliance, or compliance, seeks to combat fraud and corruption, promote business transparency and guarantee ethical business.
The discussion panel in which Xavier Álvarez took part dealt with the new UNE 19601 certification, an accreditation that Ercros obtained last year and which certifies the company's commitment to reducing criminal risks, promoting crime prevention and ethical culture.
In his speech, Álvarez assured that, thanks to the implementation process of this certification, Ercros has improved the ethical culture, has integrated compliance in the procedures, makes continuous improvement and is positioned in front of the interest groups. He also emphasized that compliance in companies is a very important part of ESG (environmental, social and governance) good practices.
The day, which was held in the great hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona, was attended by university representatives, expert lawyers in the field and companies that, like Ercros, have implemented a robust criminal compliance system.
