Cellnex Telecom has signed an agreement to share its mobile infrastructure network with Eurona Telecom so that the latter company can expand connectivity services to urban areas with less than 100,000 inhabitants. Under the terms of the deal, Cellnex will provide an initial 200 access points, with the project expected to bring superfast broadband via the 3.5 GHz band to over 500 localities with low-speed ADSL connections by 2017. Cellnex, the recently rebranded subsidiary of Spanish infrastructure company Abertis, added that the mobile collocation deal would generate revenues of EUR 2-3 million over the next five years.
